SPRING IS HERE AT LAST!

Transitional Spring Fashion

Howdy!

Happy first day of spring everyone! Thank you so much for all the love on yesterday's inaugural blog post. I know it hasn't been a minute but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to write a blog post for the first day of spring. So here I am again ;).

I'm loving the gorgeous double-digit weather we've been having lately so much. The kind that takes our minds off the deadly cold weather we had not too long ago. Winter pulled a fast one on us and it was interesting, to say the least. First, we had unprecedented early season snowstorm in September then, the weather was great for the most part of 2018. And true to Alberta weather, came February with a record-setting stretch of extremely cold temperatures. The cold temperatures were definitely not good for bloggers like me, who wanted to take pictures. Needless to say, I used lots of pictures from my archives during that period, gotta do what you gotta do...right?! Ugh, just thinking about it gives me the chills. I'm so pleased we're done with the bleak winter months.

Anyway, it's always a good feeling being able to spend time outside without freezing. So to say I'm elated spring is here is an understatement, it couldn't have come fast enough! Spring is here and it's time to shake off winter and breathe in the fresh spring air. It's time to immerse in all the beautiful things spring has to offer. The trees, bushes, plants, birds singing and flowers flourishing to enrich the environment with the added bonus of daylight savings time.

It is said that "spring represents new life" So I'm going to do exactly that, I'm going to refresh and restart if necessary. It's important to enjoy spring while it's here. Let's take time out of our busy days to go for a walk, for a drive or simply sitting in our backyards taking a breather and basking in the beauty of our surroundings this spring. It's certainly not a bad idea looking good while doing so.

Hence, in the spirit of spring, I'm sharing a casual transitional outfit involving...you guessed it--FLORAL print!;) What's spring without floral?! Give me all the florals baby! Floral prints are not a new trend, I see them everywhere in different styles, pants, dresses, skirts, jackets you name it, you can get it in floral prints. So I hope this simple and affordable spring transitional outfit inspires you to put your own floral look together.

The pant I'm wearing is my favourite and I have several pairs in different prints and colours. Yes, I have that habit haha, when I like something I buy it in all the colours and styles I can get! In fact, I recently went back to the store and scored a couple more of these amazingly comfortable and affordable pants on clearance---Yay for me!

I bought this pant from old navy last season and it has proven to be a great investment---I've been wearing it quite frequently. This pixie midrise pant is versatile and comes in many playful print and colours. It's stretchy, flattering, fits well and comes in many sizes for all shapes and sizes. I can't say enough great things about these pants (no I'm not sponsored, this is genuinely how much I love these pants). If you're looking for a versatile, affordable and stylish pant for this season, this is it! Your investment will be well worth it.

I paired it with a feminine pink top and my handy dandy double bell sleeves cardigan. The top is simple with lace details on the shoulder and the cardigan kept me warm when needed. The outfit and accessories are from my closet. I have linked similar items below.

Well, that's it for me, I hope I've inspired you to jump on the floral trend this season and always remember looking stylish doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg. Do you, be creative, shop around and don't be afraid to recreate any look of your choice that fits your budget. Enjoying all that spring has to offer and look fabulous doing it!
